Enjoy Old Favourites in a New, Modern Space
Brand's Laira a longtime favourite in Coonawarra is the latest cellar door and winery to undergo a transformation, with renovations completed in March 2020. This contemporary building has high ceilings and a mix of metal and woods in its construction. In addition to a large tasting room and outdoor space, the building has also kept the original heritage cellar, preserving the history of the brand. With an outdoor pizza oven and views across the vineyard, this winery is a must visit when planning your trip to Coonawarra.
Winemaking History Meets Modern, Elegant Design
Leconfield Coonawarra was established in 1837 and is among the new wave of cellar doors. Its concrete, steel and glass building is conveniently set along the Riddoch highway in Coonawarra. All tastings take place in the modern, light filled tasting room and guests can select from several host guided wine flights paired with their fresh local produce platters. The tasting room overlooks their barrel hall and winery, for a glimpse of the wine making process.
A New Design Winery and Barrel Hall
The newest addition to Whistle Post Estate is the Barrel Hall and Winery which is expected to open December 2020. The 650m2 winery building was designed to have an industrial aesthetic, with a mix of Limestone and Cypress Timber woods in its construction, a nod to the Limestone Coast and the heritage of our region.
This winery building is designed to be multi-purpose and also includes an elevated Board Room with balcony for private and group tastings, and a Barrel Hall for weddings and events.
